CANTON – Katie Thomas, a senior at Canton Central School and member of the Mighty Pines 4H and Paws clubs, recently donated a large number of handmade lap blankets to residents at Maplewood Campus. Thomas’ project began as one to create blankets for infants from donated fabric.
When she found that some of her donated fabric was a bit too “adult-like,” Thomas came up with the idea to make and donate some of the blankets to older adults.
Pictured from left to right, with just a sample of the blankets are Harley Hanson, Dorothy Anderson (Maplewood Resident), Katie Thomas, Logan Dodds (sitting on lap), and Sue Dean, Project Leader.
