CANTON – Women from Canton and Bombay are charged with selling oxycodone and a second Canton woman is accused of possession of the opioid painkiller.

The St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force said the arrests stem from a six-month investigation where authorities say Frances V. Summer, 25, 179 Pink Schoolhouse Rd, Canton, sold the drug to a police informant in August, and Marcia E. Fuller, 25, 1945 County Rt. 45, Bombay, sold some to an informant in October.

Both are charged with Class B felonies, third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, and were arraigned in Canton Town Court before being sent to the St. Lawrence County jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail or $4,000 bail bond each. They are due back in court Tuesday afternoon.

Leslie A. Clifford, 22, 194 Finnegan Rd., Canton, was charged with two Class A misdemeanors, seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fifth-degree conspiracy, her arrest coming as a result of the ongoing investigation, according to police.

Clifford was issued appearance tickets, calling for her to be in Norfolk Town Court Jan. 4.

Task Force members said the investigation continues, and further charges are expected.

Agencies participating in the investigation are the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, Canton Police Department, Ogdensburg Police Department, Gouverneur Police Department, and SUNY Potsdam Police Department.
