CANTON – The village Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting Friday to appoint a new police chief.
At the 8 a.m. meeting in the Municipal Building, the trustees and Mayor Michael Dalton will announce the name of the department’s chief and the appointment will be made official.
Chief Lori McDougal announced her retirement in March, after 22 years with the department.
Former Sgt. Basil Chaney was named supervisor until a new chief was appointed.
