Canton angler ready for second season of professional fishing with major local sponsor support

Chris Flint of Canton, buoyed by his success in his rookie season of professional sport fishing last year, has lined up several sponsors for the 2013 Northern Walmart FLW Everstart Series of bass tournaments.

Flint finished the 2012 season ranked 23rd out of 250 anglers who competed in that division. With that he qualified for the Everstart National Championship in West Monroe, La. and fished the Ouachita River, which has become better known due to a TV series, “Duck Dynasty.”

Flint said he only missed qualifying for priority entry into the tour this year by 13 spots.

He says he will be easy to spot in his fully wrapped Toyota Tundra which matches his boat. TJ Toyota of Potsdam was the first major sponsor Flint signed this year and others followed. The Ole Smoke House Madrid, The Computer Guys of Canton and Potsdam, Hosmer's Marina in Ogdensburg, and the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce FISHCAP program are some of the new local sponsors Flint will be adding to his jersey this year.

He said he is happy for the support and the chance for the sponsors to get their names out.

“I have also started my website to support my passion for the sport of fishing and teach others what I learn while on the water and tournament trail, so to stay in tune with what's happening on the water check out my website http//www.chrisflintfishing.com as I will be posting local reports and videos of fishing adventures I experience through the season,” he said.
