OGDENSBURG -- St. Lawrence County residents are asked not to be alarmed if they see low-flying aircraft along the St. Lawrence River between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31.
The Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce has been notified by a Saskatchewan company that they will be making an airborne survey of parts of Ontario in behalf of the Ontario Ministry of Northern Development and Mines.
The survey area includes the entire length of the Ontario St. Lawrence River shore across from St. Lawrence County.
Their twin-engine aircraft will be flying as low as 500 feet off the ground, and “will be making our turns outside of our survey block in the vicinity of your community,” the message from the company said.
“Please pass this information on to any municipalities and police forces within your jurisdiction so that people will not become alarmed when they see a low flying survey aircraft over the next few months,” the message said.
