As a not-for-profit, 4-H Camp Overlook is asking for the community’s help to refill their 2018 scholarship fund, and make camp a reality for youth across St. Lawrence and Franklin counties.
Thanks to a generous donation in the past, 4-H Camp Overlook has been able to help many deserving local youth in the two counties attend camp. The scholarships are available to all youth in need of financial assistance.
In 2017, scholarships were given to over 85 campers that would not otherwise have been able to attend camp. That was a 37 percent increase from the previous year, and Camp Overlook hopes match or even surpass that number for this summer.
A tax deductible donation of any amount to the scholarship fund helps provide youth the opportunity to experience a wide variety of fun and hands-on activities and develop important leadership skills, increase self-confidence, and make lifelong memories.
There are a few options for people wanting to donate. Cash or checks of any amount can be sent to the 4-H Camp Overlook Business Office, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Franklin County, 355 W. Main St., Malone, NY 12953, with checks made out to “4-H Camp Overlook” with “Scholarship Fund” in the memo. Donation can also be made online on the CCE website at http://franklin.cce.cornell.edu/program-payment.
