NORFOLK — Café 56 is open on South Main Street offering breakfast, lunch and dinner diner food.
Located at 61 South Main St., the eatery opened July 12.
The new eatery is owned by Bobbi and Frank Phillips.
Phillips said they had purchased the location recently (an old garage) and remodeled it into a restaurant.
“We’ve wanted to own a restaurant for years,” she said.
The menu will include diner favorites like hamburgers, eggs with sides and a variety of sandwich options.
Phillips said much of the menu is homemade, including spaghetti, fries, and hash.
The menu includes eggs, meats, hot sandwiches, burgers, chicken, fish, hot dogs, pancakes, omelets, steak, onion rings and more.
On the first Wednesday of the month they will offer side pork with milk gravy, homemade mashed potatoes, a roll and vegetables.
“It’s been very crazy — we’ve been very busy and people are happy to have a new place to eat in Norfolk,” she said.
The store employs seven people, along with “free labor” from her children, Mrs. Phillips said.
Hours will be 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. on weekends.
