LISBON -- A First Student bus driver under contract with Lisbon Central School was charged Friday with a misdemeanor after crashing her bus, injuring a monitor and leaving the scene, according to St. Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies.
No children were on board at the time, deputies said.
Donna N. Wesley, 40, of 104 Pennsylvania Ave., Binghamton, is charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, a misdemeanor, and failure to keep right, a traffic infraction.
Deputies say they received an anonymous tip on Wednesday that a school bus crashed around 9 a.m. on Monday on County Route 10.
Deputies said they investigated and determined there were no children on the bus when it crashed, but the accident resulted in a bus monitor being injured and the bus taking some damage.
The monitor was taken to Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, Ogdensburg, where she was treated for a concussion and whiplash and is still receiving treatment, deputies said.
Wesley was arraigned in Oswegatchie Town Court and released with orders to appear in Lisbon Town Court on a later date.
