POTSDAM -- The community came out to support Building Blocks Day Care and help raise money for project Building Blocks for the Future last Friday.
All proceeds will be used to help fund renovations at the daycare’s new facility at 6604 State Highway 56.
The event was planned by SUNY Potsdam student Derrick Denteh who found soccer, hockey and basketball players willing to give up their Friday night in support of the cause.
In total, the event raised more than $400. Halftime events included a performance by NV, a slam dunk contest, and a “Shooting Stars” event that gave children and adults in the audience the opportunity to show off their skills and talent.
Tax deductible donations in support of Building Blocks for the Future may be given by contacting Marlene Pickering at 265-8260.
