MORRISTOWN — A chimney fire is to blame for a blaze on 42 Walrath Rd. early May 9, according to Brier Hill Fire Chief Shawn Macauly.
The call came in around 12:53 a.m. and firefighters were on scene within five minutes, he said.
“It was a quick response from firefighters that kept the damage as minimal as possible,” Macauly said.
One person was inside the residence at the time of the blaze.
The subject smelled smoke and called for help, Macauly said.
Damage was limited to one wall and the roof.
The home was not insured.
Firefighters from Morristown also battled the blaze.
Hammond and Heuvelton firefighters were on standby.
