MASSENA – The Seaway International Bridge to Cornwall has reopened following completion of repairs, according to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).
The repairs to the south channel bridge between Cornwall Island and Massena were originally expected to take until Sunday evening to complete, but the bridge reopened this afternoon.
Since closing earlier this week, motorists had been urged to use the Ogdensburg-Prescott Port or Quebec-Fort Covington ports of entry to enter Canada from the United States – an approximate 75-mile detour.
“We thank you for your patience and for helping us to minimize the impact of this border service disruption,” said a prepared statement from CBSA.
