MASSENA -- Village police say a Brasher Falls woman is jailed without bail after she allegedly caused a property damage accident while intoxicated.
Marijo E. Thompson, 53, of Driscoll Road is charged with felony driving while intoxicated, misdemeanor aggravated DWI, refusing a breath test, driving with a suspended registration and failure to yield right of way at a stop sign, police said.
Thompson ran a stop sign at Alvern and Parker avenues while driving a 2010 Ford Mustang around 6:48 p.m. Wednesday and hit Kevin N. Dabiew, 23, of Talcott Street, Massena.
He was not injured, and was later charged with second-degree unlicensed operation for driving on a suspended license, according to police.
Court documents state Thompson had glossy eyes, slurred speech and smelled of alcoholic beverages. She refused a breath test at the roadside, but later consented to one at the police station where she registered a .21 percent blood alcohol level, police said.
Her DWI charge was elevated to a felony because she has a prior offense. Her last conviction was on July 23, 2008, according to court documents.
She was arraigned in Massena Village Court by Justice Eric Gustafson and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, Canton, without bail. She is to reappear in court Nov. 17 at 1:30 p.m.
