BRASHER FALLS – Firefighters from the Brasher-Winthrop Volunteer Fire Department made quick work of a fire to a residence on State Rt. 11C Saturday morning.
The department was called out just before 9:30 a.m. when the next door neighbor at 785 Rt. 11C called to report the blaze. The fire was contained to the back of the house and volunteers performed a “quick knockdown,” said 2d Assistant Chief Eric Bedard. The damage was contained mainly to the rear exterior of the house.
West Stockholm firefighters were on the scene and Tri-Town Rescue stood by.
Two adults and two children – ages 3 and 13 – were aided at the scene by the Red Cross, an announcement from the Red Cross said. No injuries were reported.
Bedard said an investigation into the cause was underway, but nothing suspicious was apparent.
