The Brasher-Stockholm Recreation Commission is fundraising $60,000 to purchase a new Olympia ice resurfacer.
The machine is on order and due to arrive in mid to late October.
Funds toward the new machine have been raised through advertising on the new resurfacer's body. Three businesses contracted for a five-year period.
Several eight-foot units of advertising on the arena hockey boards have been sold and contracted for a five years.
Any businesses wanting purchase an eight foot advertising unit on the arena hockey boards can contact Dave Stevens at 389-4956 or Bill Demo at 389-5425.
There have been many donations received ranging in amounts of $50 to $1,000 each.
The fundraising committee is soliciting donations from grandparents, parents and alumni hockey players. They are also soliciting donations from residents of the Tri-Town and surrounding area.
To contribute to this fundraiser send a donation to the Brasher-Stockholm Recreation Commission, P.O. Box 40, Brasher Falls, NY 13613. Identify the donation as a contribution to the “Olympia Ice Resurfacer Fund”. A receipt will be mailed if requested.
