MASSENA — A Brasher man was jailed on multiple felonies Wednesday stemming from a forgery complaint made to state police May 31, according to state police.
Gage M. Landon, 22, was charged with 15 counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument, felonies, third-degree grand larceny, felony and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, troopers said.
On May 31 around 2:30 p.m. state police responded to Seacomm Federal Credit Union in Massena regarding stolen checks had been cashed at their bank.
An investigation revealed that Landon, 22 stole $4,250 from cashing 15 checks which he stole from a 48-year-old victim of Brasher, and signed the victim's name, troopers said.
He was on arraigned in Louisville Town Court where he was remanded to St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility in lieu of $7,500 cash.
