Brasher, Lawrence, Hopkinton, Piercefield voters to pick from 3 GOP Assembly candidates Sept. 13
The newly drawn 115th Assembly District will see a three-way Republican primary Thursday, Sept. 13.
The 115th Assembly District includes all of Clinton and Essex counties and the eastern townships of St. Lawrence County, Brasher, Lawrence, Hopkinton and Piercefield.Those towns had been in the 122nd Assembly District, now represented by Ken Blankenbush. The rest of that district extends south, to Jefferson, Lewis and Oswego counties.
Incumbent Assemblywoman Janet Duprey faces a challenge from fellow Republicans David Kimmel, a businessman from Cadyville and Karen Bisso, a teacher from Plattsburgh.
The Sept. 13 primary for state and local offices was moved from Tuesday, Sept. 11 by state lawmakers who cited the anniversary of the World Trade Center tragedy as reason for the change.
