Four people recently paid fines for violations of state conservation laws, according to the Department of Environmental Conservation.
The following shows the defendant’s name, hometown, age, date and place of offense, specific charge, court date and total fines, fees and surcharges. All are according to the DEC:
• Melvin R. Huff Jr., Hurley Rd., Brasher Falls, 42, Oct. 5, 2013, Stockholm, unlawful open burn, Oct. 7, $52.50
• Justin A. MaCagg, Woodhaven Dr., Star Lake, 33, Sept. 3, Clifton, taking bear during closed season, Oct. 6, $252.50
• Matthew W. Brown, Clinton St., Gouverneur, 31, Sept. 21, Edwards, taking bear except as permitted by fish and wildlife law, Oct. 20, $402.50 Judge Finley
• George J. McIntyre III, County Rte. 24, Gouverneur, 42, Sept. 19, Edwards, taking bear except as permitted by fish and wildlife law, Oct. 20, $402.50
