MASSENA -- A Brasher Falls man is jailed without bail after police say they caught him with drugs and weapons during an early Sunday morning traffic stop.

John P. Cosores, 51, of 783 State Rte. 11C, Brasher Falls is charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and a single counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, all felonies. He is also charged with a misdemeanor count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and failure to signal, a traffic infraction.

Police said they stopped Cosores’s vehicle around 3:14 a.m. Sunday on North Main Street. He was allegedly found with eight baggies of cocaine and two daggers. The weapons possession charge would have been a misdemeanor but was elevated because he has prior felony on his record. He was convicted of falsifying business records and criminal possession of a weapon on May 6, 1998, police said.

A passenger in the vehicle, Patience M. Dissottle, 24, address not available was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic needle. Police said she possessed a crack pipe, along with the needle.

Cosores was arraigned in Massena court and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, Canton, without bail due to the prior felony, police said.

Dissottle was released with an appearance ticket, police said.
