WAVERLY -- State police say a Brasher Falls man was charged with driving while intoxicated on Friday after a motorcycle crash.
Around 7:12 p.m. that day, troopers say they responded to a report of a motorcycle crash on South River Road in the town of Waverly.
A 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Andrew S. Phelix, 35 of Brasher Falls, was traveling westbound on South River Road, when he drove off the north shoulder of the roadway and struck a tree.
Phelix was transported to the Canton-Potsdam Hospital where he was treated for facial injuries and was arrested for DWI, troopers said.
He refused to submit to a chemical test to determine the alcohol content of his blood. He was charged with DWI and further ticketed for numerous vehicle and traffic violations, troopers said.
He was arraigned at the Town of Waverly Court and remanded to Franklin County Jail, Malone, in lieu of $1,000 bail, or $2,000 bond, troopers said.
