BRASHER — A fire on Monday at 603 State Highway 420 is believed to have started on a kitchen stove.
The blaze was discovered and reported around 5:20 p.m. to the Brasher-Winthrop Fire Department by the person living in the single-level home, according to Eric Bedard, second assistant chief.
The damage was limited to the kitchen area, he said.
No injuries were reported, he said.
The American Red Cross responded to the site of a fire to provide emergency aid to two people in connection with the incident.
The Red Cross provided financial assistance for necessities such as shelter, food and clothing to two adults affected by the fire. Volunteers also offered emotional support and comfort kits containing personal care items.
In the coming days, Red Cross staff and volunteers will remain available to help those affected by the fire, an agency press release said.
The West Stockholm fire company was on standby during the incident.
