POTSDAM -- A noise initially reported to Potsdam police as a possible gunshot turned out to be a blown transformer.
Village police at 8:12 a.m. Wednesday had a report of the noise in the vicinity of Garden and Waverly streets.
Police say they figured out the noise came from the blown transformer after talking to residents and a Brookfield Renewable Energy crewmember.
“The Village of Potsdam Police Department would like to thank all the residents that assisted with this matter,” Potsdam police Chief Mark Murray said in a news release.
