A blizzard warning has been cancelled for St. Lawrence County as the National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory from 3:30 a.m. through 8 p.m. tonight as more snow and wind are expected to create dangerous driving conditions.

Snow will continue this morning adding another two to five inches of snow to what has already fallen, the service says.

Snowfall could be extremely heavy at times this morning, NWS says. Occasional snow with areas of blowing and drifting snow this morning will taper off to scattered snow showers this afternoon.

An extremely difficult morning commute is anticipated with snow covered and slippery roads along with poor visibilities, the service says. Travel is not recommended this morning unless it is necessary.

Winds will be northwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts of 30 mph possible. Visibility will be below one mile at times in snow and blowing snow, the service says.

The high today will be around 22 with wind chill values around zero.
