Below-normal temperatures will linger over North Country

The North Country will be dry today, but with slightly below normal temperatures, according to the National Weather Service. Highs are expected in the mod-40s.

Dry weather continues tonight with some increasing clouds overnight. Low temperatures are forecast to be in the lower 20s to lower 30s.

A warm front is pushing the increasing clouds into St. Lawrence County that will eventually move from southwest to northeast across our area during the afternoon Tuesday. This will increase the chances for precipitation, especially Tuesday afternoon and night, the weather service says.

A cold front will move into the region on Wednesday and make for showers and rather gusty winds behind the front late Wednesday into Wednesday night.

High pressure builds in for Thursday and dry weather will return, .but temperatures will remain well below normal.
