POTSDAM – Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s Cheel Medical Center on Lawrence Avenue is closed for today.
The hospital’s Chief Information Officer Jorge Grillo said “the closure was due to a National Grid power transformer that feeds the building being out.”
He said his office and National Grid worked us to find a replacement and install it, a job that was not complete early this afternoon.
“They also had to replace three cables feeding the transformer as part of that repair,” Grillo said.
Unless other problems arise, he said he expected the job to be complete by about 4 p.m.
If that schedule is met, the center should reopen tomorrow morning, hospital officials said.
