PARISHVILLE -- An Ogdensburg man was killed and an Ogdensburg woman was hospitalized after an ATV they were on together crashed into rocks and trees Sunday morning, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies.
Deputies say that around 9 a.m. an accident was reported at the intersection of Wildwood and French Hill roads.
The driver, Jamie A. Kennedy, 45, reportedly was headed east on a 2003 Polaris ATV on Wildwood Road and failed to negotiate a right hand turn onto the French Hill Road.
The ATV exited the east shoulder of the road and struck several large rocks and trees, deputies said.
Kennedy and his passenger Mindy L. Lawton, 38, were reportedly ejected from the machine.
Kennedy was pronounced dead at the scene, officers said.
Lawton was transported by Parishville Rescue to Potsdam Municipal Airport and flown to Upstate Medical Hospital in Syracuse for her injuries.
Sheriff's were reportedly assisted on scene by state police as well.
Deputies say their investigation into the accident is continuing.
