‘Sheetz's Oasis, PA’ 2013 by Ken Wiley, watercolor 20.5 inches by 28.75 inches

OGDENSBURG -- The Frederic Remington Art Museum selected works by artists from Winthrop, Gouverneur, Potsdam, Colton, Ogdensburg, Norwood, South Colton and Rensselaer Falls for its 2015 International Juried Art Exhibit.’

They include Marion Bradish of Winthrop, Shay Bromund of Gouverneur, James Bullard of Potsdam, Gerard Butler of Colton, Dave Ferry of Ogdensburg, Lorre Florin of Ogdensburg, Mark Keller of Norwood, Leah Lashomb of Ogdensburg, Suzanne Lebeda of South Colton, William Newman of Rensselaer Falls, Thomas Robarge of Ogdensburg and Michiko Taylor of Potsdam.

The show opens Saturday, Oct. 3 with a public reception from 2 to 4 p.m.

Juror Michael G. Kraik selected 35 works of art by 47 artists from a group of 124 images submitted. The biannual exhibit is open to artists within 100 miles of Ogdensburg. It is the first of three regular juried exhibits, scheduled on opposite year from the NYS Juried Art Exhibit.

The exhibit will be on view in the museum’s Richard E. Winter Gallery through Jan. 10.

Many of the works will be for sale. One third of the proceeds benefit the museum. Two-thirds go to the artist. The exhibit will have an online gallery at www.fredericremington.org.
