The St. Lawrence County Arts Gallery is seeking artists from local universities for a new exhibit, titled “Bang, Bang, Bang,” which will open Friday, April 5.
Students are invited to submit work in any media that fits the theme “This is the way the world ends/Not with a bang but a whimper,” which is a line from "The Hollow Men" by T. S. Eliot.
Students do not need to be art majors, but they must be currently enrolled at SUNY Potsdam, SUNY Canton, Clarkson University or St. Lawrence University.
Artists may submit up to three pieces that relate to the theme with a gallery fee of $5 per piece.
Students should deliver artwork between March 20 and 23 or March 26 and 29 to the gallery, 51 Market St.
A juror will select pieces March 30 and submitters will be notified by April 2.
An opening reception will be held Friday, April 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibit will run through Saturday, May 4.
