CANTON -- The St. Lawrence County Arts Council will honor Amy Flack of Norwood with the Arts Recognition Award for her service to the arts in the area.
Originally from Lewiston, Maine, she studied theatre management at Ithaca College. Flack served as executive director of the Thousand Islands Performing Arts Fund at the Clayton Opera House from 2006 to 2011 and has been executive director of Community Performance Series in Potsdam for the past four years.
Flack has been very involved with SLC Arts over the years, serving as a board member from 2004 to 2006, a panelist for the NYSCA regrant program from 2007 to 2008, and a Regional Advisory Board member from 2010 to 2012. In addition, she is a board member of TAUNY and the New York State Arts Presenters Advisory Board.
The Arts Recognition Award is an honor bestowed annually by the SLC Arts Board of Directors to acknowledge people who have made significant contributions to the arts and cultural life.
SLC Arts will celebrate Flackās selection for the award on March 7 during their Art Jam event at Best Western University Inn, 90 East Main Street in Canton.
