The Feb. 1 deadline to apply for a portion of $40,000 in grants to be given out by Northern New York Community Foundation’s Youth Philanthropy Councils draws near. There are two such student groups, at Potsdam and Ogdensburg high schools.
The NNYCF says it encourages non-profit organizations to submit a proposal to be considered for grant funding. Interested agencies must offer services in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties and provide a grant request.
Four youth philanthropy councils will each award up to $10,000 in grant funding.
Non-profit organizations interested in applying for grant funding through the Youth Philanthropy Councils can contact council advisors Max DelSignore (max@nnycf.org) or April Fallon (april@nnycf.org) for the program’s grant guidelines.
Proposals should include a general description of the organization and request, the grant amount requested, how the funding will be spent and the program or project’s expected impact.
The youth philanthropy councils will evaluate all grant requests and notify finalists to present grant proposals to the councils in early spring. The councils will determine grant recommendations, and the NNYCF board of directors will review all recommendations at their quarterly meeting in June.
