CANTON -- The Adirondack Park Agency has changed the location of a public hearing on state land classification proposals due to anticipated high attendance.
The hearing, one of several around the state, will now be at 6 p.m. Nov. 29 at Canton High School, rather than at the county Human Services Building on State Highway 310.
The APA is conducting public hearings to solicit public comments for state land classification and reclassification proposals.
There are proposals for state lands in all 12 counties in the park, including the recently acquired Boreas Ponds Tract.
The new classification package includes 46 proposals affecting a total of more than 50,000 acres,
Detailed maps and the draft environmental impact statement describing the proposed action are available at the Adirondack Park Agency offices and on the Adirondack Park Agency’s website at www.apa.ny.gov.
