CANTON -- Canton police say an anonymous tip led to the arrest of three accused meth makers in Lisbon Wednesday.

Darrell P. Dodd, 31, Jessica E. Dodd, 35. and Alora K. Ryan, 21, were charged with felony unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine.

An anonymous phone tip Tuesday evening led police to "suspicious" garbage, according to police. A bag found at the Canton Price Chopper contained a bottle of sulfuric acid, Drano crystals, an empty cold pack, and a glass jar containing a solvent, all of which can be used in meth making, according to Canton Police Chief Lori McDougal.

Canton Police officers along with St. Lawrence County Drug task officers processed the suspicious bag and collected evidence, which contained methamphetamine making materials.

Contents of the bag also contained information that led investigators to Lot 21 Sandburg Circle in the Town of Lisbon.

A search warrant was executed Wednesday afternoon at that residence and more components of a meth lab were discovered, according to St. Lawrence County Sheriff Kevin Wells.

Darrel Dodd was additionally charged with tampering with physical evidence, a class E felony, and unlawful disposal of methamphetamine laboratory material, a class E felony.

Police say Darrell Dodd was captured on video at Price Chopper. The investigation was led by Canton Patrolman Chris Flint, who is also an investigator with the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force, which participated in the arrests.

Darrell Dodd was arraigned before Judge James L. Monroe and held $5,000 cash, $10,000 bond. Ryan and Jessica Dodd were both released to probation.

Drug Task Force Detectives and Canton police were assisted by the Sheriff’s K-9 Unit, New York State Police CCERT team, Ogdensburg Police Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit, Lisbon Fire and Rescue, and the Department of Homeland Security Investigations.

This meth lab investigation is already the seventh in St. Lawrence County so far this year, Sheriff Wells said.

The investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected.
