All seven state lawmakers representing St. Lawrence County up for re-election, but only two are opposed

Voters on Tuesday will pick between five candidates running for two of St. Lawrence County’s Assembly seats, but in the remaining two Assembly seats and all three Senate Districts in the county, incumbents are uncontested.

In the 115th Assembly District, Republican incumbent Janet Duprey of Peru is facing Karen Bisso, a Conservative from Morrisonville. The district includes Brasher, Hopkinton, Lawrence and Piercefield, along with Franklin and Clinton counties.

In the 116th District, Democrat incumbent Addie J. Russell of Theresa will square off against John Byrne III, R-Cape Vincent, and Russell Finley, C-Lisbon. The district includes Massena, Ogdensburg, Louisville, Waddington, Lisbon, Oswegatchie, Morristown and DePeyster. It also includes northern Jefferson County, excluding Watertown.

In the 117th Assembly District, incumbent Ken Blankenbush has no opposition. He is a Republican from Black River. The district includes DeKalb, Gouverneur, Hermon, Russell, Edwards, Fowler and Pitcairn, along with Lewis County and parts of Jefferson and Oneida counties.

Marc Butler, a Republican from Newport, is unopposed for a fresh term representing the 118th Assembly District. It covers the towns of Madrid, Norfolk, Stockholm, Parishville, Pierrepont, Clare, Colton, Clifton and Fine. It also includes Hamilton, Herkimer and Fulton counties plus part of Oneida County.

Three state senators representing St. Lawrence County have no opposition.

Republican Joseph Griffo of Rome represents the 47th Senate District. It includes Massena, Brasher, Norfolk, Stockholm, Potsdam, Pierrepont, Russell, Clifton, Fine and Pitcairn, along with Lewis and Oneida counties.

The 48th Senate District representative is Patty Ritchie, R-Heuvelton. It includes Ogdensburg, Canton, Oswegatchie, Waddington, Lisbon, Louisville, DePeyster and Morristown, as well as Jefferson and Oswego counties.

In the 45th Senate District, Republican incumbent Elizabeth O'C. Little of Queensbury is unopposed. She represents Parishville, Lawrence, Clare, Colton, Hopkinton and Piercefield, along with Franklin, Clinton, Essex, Warren and Washington counties.
