MASSENA -- Alcoa employees recently donated nearly 2,000 personal care items to St. Vincent De Paul, which will be distributed to the needy.
They gave 473 rolls of toilet paper, over 400 bars of soap, over 1,000 diapers and 162 tubes of toothpaste, Alcoa said.
They also gave shampoo, body wash and baby wipes, the company said.
Also as part of their so-called "Worldwide Month of Service" during October, Massena Alcoa employees cleared public snowmobile trails in the Brasher area, moved books at the Waddington library to make room for new carpet and helped prepare the Robert Moses Nature Center for winter, Alcoa said.
They also raised $4,000 for area charities at their employee food drive 5K.
