AKWESASNE -- The newly-opened Cascades Lounge at the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino recently hosted a check presentation to Ironworkers Local 440 for proceeds from this summer’s 10th Year Anniversary Ironworkers Festival at the casino.
In the photo, Darlene Dilcox, long time organizing committee member and Director of Casino Services, presented former Business Manager Mike Swamp and Local 440 Representative Bill Sears with a check for $5,657.96, which includes proceeds from t-shirt sales as well as registration fees from competitors.
The money will be deposited into the Local 440 Fund and be used for members of the organization. Swamp said, “It has been a great relationship with the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino and it’s an event we, as a community, look forward to each and every year.”
The Ironworkers Festival celebrated its 10th Year Anniversary this past July.
The top honor of the Ultimate Ironworker went to now two-time defending champion Eric Costa from Local 301, Tampa, Florida.
Fort’s Brickhouse Pizzeria was again crowned as the winner of the Chicken Wing Contest.
