HOGANSBURG – The Akwesasne Mohawk Casino has been busy for the last couple of months working with social services agencies in nearby Canada and the U.S. to make the holidays a little brighter for local children.
“There are many families in need this holiday season and we are so happy to be able to contribute in whatever way possible.” said casino Director of Compliance Jill Benedict.
Casino guests were asked to bring in an unopened, unwrapped toy valued at approximately $10 in exchange for five entries into a drawing at the casino. Associates were asked the same but would receive entries into a drawing for small gifts. “The response has been uplifting and inspirational. I consider myself lucky to work in an environment where we can come together as a family to help out so many,” Benedict said.
The Akwesasne Mohawk Casino is on Route 37 in Hogansburg.
