AKWESASNE -- Akwesasne Mohawk Casino employees recently collected 565 toys for families in need.
Guests at the casino hotel donated unopened, unwrapped toys in exchange for free bingo cards or $5 slot play.
In addition to that, the casino’s security department collected $860 from its employees and used it to buy 75 of the toys.
The casino gave the toys to Akwesasne agencies to be distributed. They include St. Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Department of Social Services (DSS) and the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s Department of Child & Family Services (DCFS).
