MASSENA -- An aggressive five-foot snake could be at large in Massena.
Police Chief Timmy Currier said his department started getting calls last night, the first one just after 9 p.m., a report of a five-foot long, four-inch thick snake on the loose on Northview Drive.
The caller said it was of dark color with red markings. The snake was reported to be acting aggressively.
Currier said officers located a smaller snake of the same color in the area but were unable to locate a larger snake.
"Anyone that comes into contact with an aggressive snake should avoid it and contact the police department immediately," Currier said.
"Also, if there is anyone that is missing a pet snake, please contact us with information on it, so we can take the appropriate action of notification to the public."
The phone number at the Massena Police Department is 769-3577.
