OGDENSBURG – After more than 70 years, Farrand’s Flowers has closed.

The store at 1031 Patterson St. is empty and the telephone number is no longer in service.

The business had been operated for decades at118 King St. by the family of John and Belva Farrand and was purchased by Pat Kelley in 2013.

Kelley had worked as a designer with the Farrands since the 1980s.

She moved the business to 1031 Patterson St. because the Farrands sold the King Street property to Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, which is located across the street.

John Farrand’s parents, William and Martha Farrand, founded the business on King Street in 1940.
