WADDINGTON -- Firefighters honored Scott C. Billings, former lieutenant at the Massena Volunteer Fire Department, with a memorial service yesterday at Phillips Memorials.
Billings, who passed away unexpectedly Feb. 7, was also a past member of the Madrid and West Potsdam fire departments.
He was born in Ogdensburg and graduated from Madrid-Waddington Central High School in 1992.
Scott then attended Morrisville College followed by Canton ATC where he received his degree in residential construction and later worked at Alcoa for several years as a machine operator.
He was a very active member of the Massena Volunteer Fire Department and also enjoyed ice fishing, hunting, playing hockey and spending time with his two brothers.
