MASSENA – Thanks in part to a $2,000 grant from Adirondack Community Trust-Adirondack for Kids, Christmas for over 530 children participating in the Massena Neighborhood Center's annual Christmas program was much brighter in 2011.
Fund raising committee member and Christmas program coordinator Mary Farrington stated, “The need was great again this year, but thanks to the generous support we received throughout our service area and beyond, well over 400 families benefited from our Christmas program. The Adirondack for Kids grant helped greatly in providing gifts for the children.”
Adirondack for Kids is a fund instituted in 2009 by the Adirondack Family of Businesses (which, in addition to the Mountain Mart stores includes Adirondack Energy, Adirondack Propane, Adirondack Waste, and Mo's Pub & Grill and Titus Mountain Family Ski Center) specifically to support youth activities in areas where the companies operate.
