POTSDAM -- Clarkson University will host Roller Coaster Camp next week, July 18-22, with about 75 local students and teachers participating in the weeklong event.
Participants will be organized into companies and tasked with designing an original model of a functioning roller coaster.
Hands-on camp activities will provide students with an opportunity to learn 21st century skills, such as problem solving, teamwork, and computer literacy. The camp also includes a day-long trip to Six Flags Great Escape in Lake George to research and collect data on real roller coasters. The visit to the amusement park will provide a real-life biometric data collection and analysis opportunity.
On Friday, July 22, the camp concludes with a showcase evening for family, friends, and teachers to see what the students have achieved over the week! This event includes additional roller coaster challenges and an awards ceremony.
