CANTON -- St. Lawrence County will receive a $65,000 in FEMA funding for a 2014 “snow event” that hit the county in November.
The finance committee Monday agreed to modify the highway budget to reflect the additional revenue.
In December of 2014, St. Lawrence County received a presidential declaration for a “snow event” that occurred from Nov. 17 through Nov. 26.
The $65,000 will be used to replace aging highway equipment and machinery.
Although the revenues will become part of the 2015 budget, they will be reflected as 2014 income, because that’s when the storm occurred, officials said.
