MASSENA – A Massena man stopped by US Border Patrol in northern Franklin County early today was carrying 65 pounds of marijuana, state police say.
Brian Hurlbut, 30, has been charged with criminal possession of marijuana, first degree.
He was arraigned in Town of Bombay Court and sent to the Franklin County lockup in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Police say more drugs were found in the vehicle and additional charges are pending analysis and identification of the drug.
The investigation is ongoing and being conducted by the New York State Police along with the Franklin County Drug Task Force, the US Border Patrol, the DEA and ICE.
