CANTON -- St. Lawrence University has welcomed 610 first-year students.
The Class of 2018 is one of the most diverse classes in St. Lawrence’s history, with 14 percent being students of color, according to a statement from the school.Fifty-two percent of the Class of 2018 is female, 38 percent of students come from New York State, and 51 percent come from 29 other states.
The Class of 2018 also happens to be one of St. Lawrence’s most international, with 67 international students representing 26 countries around the globe. China and Canada are countries most represented, with 21 and 14 students respectively, SLU said.
First-year students recently participated in St. Lawrence University’s traditional Matriculation Ceremony, which welcomes new students to campus and inaugurates them to the Class of 2018.
