Aaron Woolf has released his federal effective tax rate which was filed jointly with his wife.

The rate is 29.53 percent, placing him at or near the proposed “Buffett Rule” threshold.

Woolf’s New York effective tax rate is 8.82 percent, placing him in the state’s highest tax bracket.

Woolf had been challenged by his opponent, former political analyst for Republicans in Washington Elise Stefanik, to release details of his tax returns after she did.

According to the statement from Stefanik’s campaign office, Stefanik’s reported adjusted gross income for 2013 was $70,775. Taxable income was $60,775. Taxes paid were $13,199. The effective tax rate was 21.7 percent.

Officials of her campaign said this was all information on her federal tax return. They did not provide any information on any income taxes she might have paid inn Washington, D.C., before she moved to Willsboro to run for Congress, or in New York after she returned.
