SARANAC LAKE – Dylan Ratigan of Saranac Lake, Democratic candidate for New York's 21st Congressional District, has picked up another labor endorsement following his previous endorsement from IBEW Local 2032.

In a letter, Ernest J. LaBaff of Norwood, president emeritus of the Aluminum Brick & Glass Workers International Union, wrote Ratigan was “the best candidate whom has the best chance of being elected as the Congressman of the 21st District.”

Ratigan is one of five Democrats who are running in the June 26 primary for the party’s nomination to challenge two-term incumbent Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, a Republican.

“I urge all Democratic voters to support Dylan Ratigan on June 26th, and to send a representative to Washington who will truly represent the needs of the 21st District of New York,” LaBaff said.

Ratigan said, “I'm honored to get Mr. LaBaff's endorsement. For too long we've watched our broken politics work against Labor and the needs of all working people. We need a 21st century economy that works for the benefit of everyone, not just the profits of a select few.”

“I think we have a great field of potential candidates running in the Primary, but only one can win, and I feel that Dylan Ratigan is the most qualified and strongest candidate to win the Primary Election this June AND the General Election in November,” LaBaff said in his letter. “Dylan has the personality and name recognition that I believe will carry him through. In talking with Dylan on several occasions, I have found him to be the down to earth candidate that the district is lacking.”

For 12 years, LaBaff was president of the 100,000-member Aluminum Brick & Glass Workers International and Vice-President of the New York State AFL-CIO. He was a St. Lawrence county legislator for 10 years.

Ratigan is an author and a former journalist and commentator for Bloomberg, CNBC, and MSNBC.
