OGDENSBURG -- Nearly 200 jobseekers visited Ogdensburg’s Oddfellows Hall Wednesday for State Sen. Patty Ritchie’s annual St. Lawrence County Job Fair.
The event included nearly 60 employers offering opportunities for networking, resume-writing tips, job searching tools and more to people looking for work or seeking a career change.
“Along with creating jobs, events like this that help put people back to work are a critical component when it comes to revitalizing our economy in Upstate New York,” Sen. Ritchie said.
“This Job Fair is truly a one stop shop for people who are looking for employment here in the North Country and I’m confident that through today’s event, people will have made the connections they need to reenter the workforce and utilize their talents in ways that benefit our region.”
Last year, more than 1,000 job-seekers attended Sen. Ritchie’s job fairs held in St. Lawrence and Oswego Counties, which included nearly 100 employers, seminars on resume writing, interview skills and tips on landing a new job. As a result of the events, hundreds of attendees were able to find employment.
Senator Ritchie encourages those who could not attend her St. Lawrence County Job Fair to visit her online Jobs Bank—which features thousands of jobs available across New York State—at www.ritchie.nysenate
