POTSDAM – A sixteen-year old Colton-Pierrepont Central student recently completed her first solo flight in an aircraft.
Taylor LaValley, who turned 16 March 7, completed the flight March 13 in honor of her grandfather, Lloyd LaValley, who passed away a couple weeks ago.
LaValley is the daughter of Randy and Penny LaValley. She is a sophomore at Colton Pierrepont Central School.
The FAA allows an individual with the proper training and medical clearance to fly an airplane with no one else on board (solo) upon turning 16 years old.
