$13.5 million grant could benefit solar electricity projects across New York

Projects in St. Lawrence County and around the state aimed at reducing the cost of installing photovoltaic solar electric systems and streamlining the inspection and permitting process for local officials could benefit from a $13.5 million grant fund through the NY-Sun initiative.

“These efforts to reduce installation costs and streamline PV permitting processes, together with our commitment to extend annual funding under NY-Sun to 2023, will provide the industry with long-term certainty and attract significant private investment,” said Gov. Andrew Cuomo in announcing the fund.
