GOUVERNEUR -- People from Massena and Hogansburg are accused of possessing 13 pounds of marijuana after a U.S. Border Patrol stop along U.S. Rt. 11 in the town of Gouverneur.
State police said today that troopers were called to the Ogdensburg Port of Entry on Dec. 5 to take custody of Devin J. Riley, 18, Massena, and Carlos A. Rodriguez Jr., 22, Hogansburg, who were then arrested for alleged possession of 13 pounds of marijuana inside a suitcase inside the vehicle they were in when they were stopped by the Border Patrol in Gouverneur.
Rodriguez Jr., the operator of the vehicle, was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation third degree, as his license was found to be suspended, according to police.
Riley and Rodriguez Jr. were arraigned at Gouverneur Town Court and sent to St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond for bail.
